The Nike SB Dunk Low was the first shoe to be released as part of Nike's Skateboarding line. The original Nike Dunk got its start as a basketball shoe in 1985. By 1988, it was clear that the Dunk was not nearly as popular as the Air Jordan 1, and Nike retired it. It's been a key part of Nike's Skateboard line ever since.
